The hphprld.exe file is a process that runs when you load Windows. It uses the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. It is not a core file for Windows that means the operating system can run without needing this process. It automatically executes on the local machine for autorun registry entries. A file with an EXE extension pertains to an executable file or program on OS/2, OpenVMS, Windows, DOS and Symbian operating systems. Aside from the executable program, various EXE files have components called resources like icons and bitmaps that the executable program can use for its GUI [graphical user interface]. An executable file is a program that can be run by the operating system as an application on computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hphprld.exe. is used by hphprld.exe, If you shut down hphprld.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hphprld.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is hphprld.exe, from your system.
