The hookterminateapis.dll file is a process called Program Protector that is part of the application Program Protector created by Karlis Blumentals for Blumentals Software. A DLL [dynamic link library] file contains functions that other programs can use. It can hook itself into other running programs to alter or control their behavior. This is not a visible program. The hookterminateapis.dll file is not a system process. Program Protector is a security tool that lets you protect programs with a password. It uses a special algorithm to modify the executable file of the program so that it will require the valid password before starting the program. It maintains a protected program list and activity logging. You can drag and drop shortcuts and program files to protect them. You can customize password prompts and integrate usage tips and help system. It lets you check the status of your protection through the log function.
