What is  groovemonitor.exe

Groove Monitor, with executable file groovemonitor.exe, is part of the software for Microsoft Office Groove. The file is tasked to keep an eye on your Groove applications, checking if there are any issues with regards to application performance. If any issues are found, i.e. application crashes, the file will ask the user if it can send the report of the crash to Microsoft. The user can click OK or Cancel, depending on the user’s preference. The file works in much the same way as Microsoft’s Windows Error Reporting application, where automated reports are also sent to Microsoft to report Windows application crashes. File path for Groove Monitor is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\groovemonitor.exe. It is launched by its parent process, explorer.exe. It uses about 1.98 MB of CPU RAM, and has a known file size of 30.29 KB. Run identifier for startup is “GrooveMonitor.” Based on users’ accounts, disabling the file does not affect the performance of Office Groove applications.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. groovemonitor.exe. is used by Groove Monitor, If you shut down groovemonitor.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
