GetInfo is the service name of the process getinfo.exe, which is an instance of an executable or EXE file, and is a component of the software product called GetInfo or McAfee Agent, which is developed by nai. The getinfo.exe file is installed onto the computer, where it stores itself into a file folder, registers into the Windows registry, and starts to run in the background. During the startup of the Windows, the getinfo.exe file automatically runs to execute its function, and it is important to keep it working as a background service. Also, getinfo.exe is a Windows file, so it is compatible with most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, also referred to as Windows operating systems, or simply Windows OS, including new versions, like Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. getinfo.exe. is used by GetInfo or McAfee Agent, If you shut down getinfo.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop getinfo.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is GetInfo or McAfee Agent, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as GetInfo or McAfee Agent, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
