What is  gdrv.sys

The gdrv.sys file is a driver file associated with Gigabyte motherboard and graphics cards. The file executes a process known as Gigabyte Tools. The file appears to cause BSOD and crashes the system, as what has been reported by some clients. What some of the affected users recommend is to rename the file to prevent it from causing system errors. The file has a default path of C:\Windows\System 32\Drivers\gdrv.sys. Process file size is between 7.9 KB and 25 KB. The file is an important system file that needs to be left running, and allowed to launch when the computer boots and loads the system. Although there seems to be no definite specifications on what the file actually does, some users claim that the file has something to do with power management for Gigabyte hardware. Some users also have reported that disabling or uninstalling the file does not appear to solve BSOD issues, because they find that the file simply re-installs itself when the system re-boots. Despite these issues, the file has not been detected as a malicious file associated with a virus or malware.
