The freedom.sys file is the process called Freedom Driver that is used by the application Freedom Security & Privacy created by Zero-Knowledge Systems. This process file is a driver. A driver is a computer application that controls or operates a certain device connected to the computer. It is dependent on hardware and is operating-system-specific. This program does not have a visible window. The freedom.sys file is not a system process. It originates from the software installed in the system. It is not a core file for Windows that means the operating system can run without requiring this process. The freedom.sys file has a digital signature certified by Microsoft. It is a safe process. Freedom Security & Privacy Suite is a package of security solutions that includes privacy tools, anti-virus defense and personal firewall. It also offers parental controls, browser cookie manager and pop-up ad blocker.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. freedom.sys. is used by Freedom Security & Privacy, If you shut down freedom.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop freedom.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Freedom Security & Privacy, from your system.
