The fmsadmin.exe file is the process called Adobe Flash Media Server that is used by the application Flash Media Server created by Adobe Systems Incorporated. This process file has no digital signature. It automatically starts on services installed and on running processes. It is not a visible program. The fmsadmin.exe file can monitor applications. Flash Media Server is now known as Adobe Media Server or AMS. The application is a proprietary media and data server that works with Flash Player runtime for creating multi-user, media-driven RIAs or Rich Internet Applications. It features real time communication that involves collaboration between several clients like multiplayer games or chat room. The program enables users to publish and receive net streams. It functions as a hub that connects to Flash-based applications using RTMP or Real Time Messaging Protocol. It can send or receive data using live web FLV player to connect to users.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fmsadmin.exe. is used by Flash Media Server, If you shut down fmsadmin.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fmsadmin.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Flash Media Server, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Flash Media Server, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
