Fast User Switching Compatibility, or Network Security (FastUserSwitchingCompatibility), is the service name of the process fastuv32.dll, which is a type of dynamic link library (DLL), and a component of the program Fast User Switching. Fast User Switching is a type of utility tool software that enables the logging of different (multiple) users on the computer at the same time. What the process Fast User Switching Compatibility, or fastuv32.dll, does is to allow some programs that are not originally designed to run in a multiple-user platform, so they can be compatible for multiple switching and logging. To be able to make those programs functional for multiple users, fastuv32.dll must run in the background, and it does when the software that houses it is successfully installed onto the computer, either desktop PC or laptop. In addition to that, this file may be able to execute other modules that are bundled within the application. Either way, it is important to keep the file process working and running on the system, regardless of the Microsoft Windows Operating System (OS) used.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fastuv32.dll. is used by Fast User Switching, If you shut down fastuv32.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fastuv32.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Fast User Switching, from your system.
