What is fadpu16e.sys
The file fadpu16e.sys, known as Fadpu16E, is a process in the CD/DVD protection software SecuROM. CDs and DVDs that contain the process fadpu16e.sys are resistant to home media duplication devices, professional duplicators, and reverse engineering software. SecuROM is a Digital Rights Management (DRM) system for content distributed through CD-ROM and DVD-ROM that is maintained by Sony DADC primarily to protect computer games from duplication. Discs are copy protected through the method called data position measurement (DPM) that functions by measuring the physical location of a data on the CD or DVD. The launch of the executable file SecuROM that is supported by fadpu16e.sys authenticates the activation license of the CD or DVD. This process has a hardware-level incompatibility with certain brands of optical drives, and conflicts with other software that produce an error that is caused by the driver fadpu16e.sys that remains in the computer's memory.
