The process evlstnr.exe, known as Event Listener, belongs to software Nikon View by FotoNation. Nikon View NX2 is software that is provided for users of the Nikon Coolpix line of digital camera from Nikon. It enables the user to transfer images taken with the digital camera to the computer. In addition to image transfer, the user can employ other functions like browsing, sorting, and quick editing for both still images and movie files. Also integrated with the Nikon View software is the application Nikon 2, which allows easy file transfer from the Nikon camera or memory card reader to primary and backup destination folder. The photo editing functions in Nikon View NX2 enables the user to crop and straighten images for JPEG, TIFF, and RAW format images, and the adjustment of White Balance and Exposure Compensation for RAW, NEF, and NRW images captured with Nikon digital cameras. Another feature called the Picture Control Utility allows quick modifications of picture controls for RAW, NEF, and NRW image files.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. evlstnr.exe. is used by Nikon View NX2, If you shut down evlstnr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop evlstnr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Nikon View NX2, from your system.
