If you have a Gigabyte motherboard, chances are, you have the file essvr.exe installed on your computer. This is the company’s Easy Energy Saver application which functions as an energy saver for your CPU. The process installed is called ES Lite Service. It automatically adjusts your CPU power based on the load of the CPU. If you only have a few processes running, the application will adjust the power to just the right level that will make your processes run uninterrupted. If more processes are loaded, the program will once again adjust the power settings to accommodate the additional workload. The file is stored in a Program Files subfolder, as such C:\Program Files\Gigabyte\EasySaver\essvr.exe. File sizes can be anywhere from 66.5 KB to 78.5 KB. RAM usage is only about 96 KB. Committed memory usage is approximately 35.15 MB, while working set memory is 2.64 MB. The program is compatible with 32-bit Windows platform.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. essvr.exe. is used by ES Lite Service, If you shut down essvr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop essvr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ES Lite Service, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as ES Lite Service, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
