Developed by Lotus Development Corporation, connect.exe is the executable file for Sametime Connect Application, the software for online real-time communication functions such as instant messaging, VoIP, personal chats and business conferences, and keyboard inputs. The Lotus SameTime software has a new version especially designed for large enterprises. Connect.exe delivers user-friendly service tools for people of all capability and skill levels with a wide variety of needs. Sametime Connect combines video, audio, and web resources to provide unified conferencing experiences that are accessible through any browser and operating systems. Sametime Connect supports Linux, Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, and broad spectrum of mobile devices. It also provides video and telephony integrated solutions and services. The connect.exe process sets up libraries for all documents and media files when running, for easy data access and sharing. It features the “check in” and/or “check out” controls as well as the drag-and-drop method for easy management of content.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. connect.exe. is used by Sametime Connect, If you shut down connect.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop connect.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Sametime Connect, from your system.
