What is  bttray.exe

The Bluetooth Tray or bttray.exe enables the user to check the status of Bluetooth devices currently connected to the user’s computer. Furthermore, this process enables users to manage transfer of files using a Bluetooth connection. Along with it comes a software called Widcomm Bluetooth. This EXE file allows its users to configure or shape up the specific settings of their respective Bluetooth device. The bttray.exe process can start, stop, connect and detect the presence of Bluetooth devices within range. The Bluetooth Tray can also enable its users to configure or shape up specific security features while their Bluetooth device is currently connected. The setup wizard, Bluetooth places, quick connect, shutdown device feature and advanced configuration are a few features of the Bluetooth Tray as the bttray.exe process manages several Bluetooth devices. This enables this process to recognize several devices as long as they are Bluetooth-enabled. The Bluetooth Tray can be stopped when it is unused; however, it is advisable for the user to not terminate the process while it is still in use as it can lead to sudden errors and malfunctions.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. bttray.exe. is used by Widcomm Bluetooth, If you shut down bttray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
