The file avscan.exe which has another process name known as Workstation On-Demand Scanner which is developed by the Datentechnik GmbH for Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition software. It is an Antivirus Software which allows the user in scanning the hard drives fully. It has a heurisitc scan which can be turned off fully or partially. The AntiVir PersonalEdition software has an extensive quarantine which displays all relevant information about the quarantined file in the spreadsheet. Moreover, quarantines files enables to user to rescan, restore, or delete. It has a file size of 20.13 MB and it can be found in the C:\Program files subfolder. The file avscan.exe is not a part of the Windows core file and it has no visible window that user could manipulate. The file can be uninstalled using the add or remove program located in the Control Panel of the Windows operating system. The user could also contact the Avira Customer Service via their website for some concerns. It is also advisable to always update the program to its latest version.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. avscan.exe. is used by AntiVir PersonalEdition Software, If you shut down avscan.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
