The avgntmgr.sys file is the process Avira AntivirFile Filter Driver Manager that is developed by H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH and used by the application AntiVir. The file path for this system file is in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers. The size for the file is 14,848 bytes. This process file is a driver for Windows. It functions to enable the computer to communicate with devices connected or hardware. It has direct access to internals of hardware, operating systems, etc. The driver can be accessed in the Control Panel under Services. There is no visible window for this application. The file has a digital signature from Avira GmbH with issued certificate by VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer – G2. Automatic startup locations for the process include drivers installed. The Avira AntiVir is a security software that protects your system from threats through features such as Real-Time Protection, Browser Tracking Blocker, AntiAd or Spyware and Website Safety Advisor.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. avgntmgr.sys. is used by Avira AntiVir, If you shut down avgntmgr.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop avgntmgr.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Avira AntiVir, from your system.
