AVG Anti-Spyware is the process term for avgas.exe, which is an executable or EXE file, and is a part of the software product branded as AVG Anti-Spyware, which is developed by Anti-Malware Development a.s or GRISOFT s.r.o or AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o. As its name suggests, the program that houses the file is basically a security application, so the avgas.exe process, which is digitally signed from GRISOFT LTD - VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer, is an important tool of it that needs to remain stored and continue to run in the background. The avgas.exe file is launched to offer protection against known and unknown threats of PC and from the Internet, which include worms, viruses, Trojan horses, spyware, malware, as well as online fraud, scam, identity theft, hacking, and keylogging. Other than providing PC protection, the avgas.exe file is also responsible in cleaning the registry of the Widows, scanning external devices or peripherals when they are attached or plugged into the computer, and update users additional or new information.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. avgas.exe. is used by AVG Anti-Spyware by Anti-Malware Development, If you shut down avgas.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
