The atkkbnt.sys is a process that belongs to the ASUS Help Driver for Keyboard Service by ASUSTek COMPUTER INC. It is a driver file that allows communication between the operating system and a hardware, which in this case is the keyboard. The file can be found in the System32/drivers folder of the Windows XP/7 operating system. The process can be enabled or disabled from the Services though the Control Panel. The file is considered safe and does not pose a threat to the computer. The atkkbnt.sys is not a Windows core file which makes it safe to be uninstalled and disabled. Once the process is disabled, other programs associated with atkkbnt.sys may not work properly. The process is also a compressed file which may make it vulnerable to possible virus attacks. Once the process is detected to run from the System32 folder, it may possibly be a malware in disguise.
