The driver for ATI graphics cards installs an application that is called AMD External Events Service Module and this module in turn, installs the executable file atieclxx.exe. This file is responsible for executing a process that is related to the improvement of the performance of the graphics card. Although the file is just a support for the display quality of the graphics card, this is an important file that should be allowed to run in the background, unless the user is not very particular about the quality of the display. At any rate, users generally opt to keep the file enabled unless it has been found to cause system issues. The file is usually located in the Windows System subfolder; C:\Windows\System 32\atieclxx.exe. Its common file size is 411 KB. RAM use is approximately 2.01 MB. Parent process of the file is atiesrxx.exe from AMD External Events. Its MD5 image hash is 6d4b42346b76245e8870cea5786e8e85, and SHA-1 hash is 24ce630eaa0c66a190b4216afe53f6083ae46d39.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. atieclxx.exe. is used by AMD External Events Service Module, If you shut down atieclxx.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop atieclxx.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AMD External Events Service Module, from your system.
