A windows driver file asctrm.exe which is also known as the TR Manager belongs to Windows Operating System (version 2000 DDK Driver). This software communicates with the hardware or to other connected peripherals to make the Computer do its functionality. The software is officially owned and developed by Microsoft Corporation. The file is usually found in the directory of C:\Windows\System32\drivers. This software is linked to another third party software called Real Player which is a media player. The size of the software is 8,552 bytes on both Windows XP and Windows 7. However the driver can be ceased from the services utility located in the control Panel of the Microsoft Operating system user. The process can be removed by removing the entire program called Real Player and this can be done through the Add/Remove utility located also in the Control Panel. Removing this process may cause other software not to work.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. asctrm.sys. is used by Window Operating System, If you shut down asctrm.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop asctrm.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Window Operating System, from your system.
