ActiveSpeed, also AS, is the service name of the file as.exe, and a component of the program ActiveSpeed, which is developed by Ascentive, or IIPL. ActiveSpeed is the type of Internet Optimizer and Web Accelerator, which is used to speed up the Internet connection, and features modification of the computer’s settings, patent pending “Intelligent Optimization Engine” for manual acceleration of the web connectivity. This enables a quick and much easier web browsing, file downloading, and running online video games. Thus, as.exe is a file that is essential to make the software function, and it is recommended to keep it running in the background. This file is also an instance of a Windows process, which implies that it works with most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, both older and later versions, including Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows ME, Windows 98, and Windows 95.
