What is  antivirus.exe

Termed as AntiVir MFC Application as its service name, the process antivirus.exe is an instance of an executable or EXE file, and is a component of the software product called IE AntiVirus, also in IE AntiVirus 3.2. The IE AntiVirus program is a rogue anti-spyware program, which means it is a fake remover of spyware, and definitely a clone of certain security applications, like IEDefender, FilesSecure, and MalwareBell. When this software is downloaded, antivirus.exe runs and executes itself to provide fake notifications and pop-ups that can falsely inform a user about virus or spyware in the computer. As other modules, antivirus.exe is compatible with most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, or Windows operating systems, or Windows OS, including Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME, so it is easy and quick to be downloaded because it works with these versions of OS by Microsoft Corporation.
