What is  allow-io.sys

The system file allow-io.sys, known as Allow IO software is identified as a Windows driver. It is a small software program allowing users to communicate with connected devices and hardware. This driver allows easy communication of the user with T-POD using the parallel port on user PC. It also let windows control all user hardware (printer, sound card, CDROM, modem, keyboar, mouse, etc). Updating the driver will improve system performance and stability of the user PC. Since it operates at speeds that may not be congruent with the operating system, the communication between the two is done primarily through I/O (input and output) request packets (IRPs). These packets are like network packets or Windows message packets. They are passed from OS to a specific driver then one after another. IRPs go from a driver to another in the same stack to facilitate communication. The stack is composed of joystick driver, USB host controller, USB hub and the PCI bus. The communication is coordinated when each driver send and receive IRPs in the stack.
