The allchars.exe is an executable file also called as Keyboard enhancer of the software AllChars for Windows developed by an interior, product and concept designer named Jeroen Laarhoven. AllChars software works in most Windows programs providing a quick, easy-to-remember way of putting accents like é ì ð Č ý ä and special character like ™ ≠ ¥ ® € £. It is compatible to work with any Windows operating system like Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4, 2000, XP , Vista and even in the old 16-bit version. This process works by emulating the *nix Compose key on Windows. All the AllChars upward versions support the macros: type (short) name and replace it with a (long) text. It executes its functions by typing first then the program automatically take the next two characters the user type and substitute another in their place. The Version 4 of AllChars includes extensions to perform like a Compose key and allow binding hotkey to Menu, Windows, Caps Lock keys and others.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. allchars.exe. is used by Allchars, If you shut down allchars.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop allchars.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Allchars, from your system.
