The akprog.exe file is an EXE application process that has been reported by many users as a malicious program associated with the MonitoringTool:Win32/ActualSpy application, which is a known spyware and keylogger program. Since the Actual Spy software can be installed in Windows-based systems by network administrators for business monitoring purposes, these user reports refer to installations that have been covertly performed in the systems of these users, which also means the akprog.exe file was covertly integrated into their systems upon the unannounced installation of the Actual Spy software in these instances. When the Actual Spy software is installed in a Windows-based system (both legitimate and secret installations), the akprog.exe file operates as a hidden background process whenever the Actual Spy program is actively in use. The akprog.exe process is said to assist the Actual Spy software in recording and logging keyboard inputs and mouse clicks done by users, and these details are reported to be transmitted by the akprog.exe process and the Actual Spy software to predefined remote servers, or even to local servers as configured by network administrators and IT personnel (for legitimate Actual Spy installations).

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. akprog.exe. is used by Actual Spy Keylogger, If you shut down akprog.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop akprog.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Actual Spy Keylogger, from your system.
