The executable activemenu.exe process is the launcher of the Active Menu of the program HP Games. HP Games, in cooperation with WildTangent Games, programmed and developed activemenu.exe specifically for HP-branded desktop computers and laptops. The activemenu.exe process allows the user to view a list of available WildTangent games that can be played by the HP user. The activemenu.exe program acts as an offline and online managing client for games purchased and downloaded from WildTangent Games. WildTangent games are available for all users, not only HP, but activemenu.exe is only available and exclusive to HP computer owners. The activemenu.exe is very similar to another game client, Steam. The activemenu.exe process is very ad intensive and was once classified as adware. The program is not dangerous and was only a persistent problem to HP owners since ads appear even on-game. Online casual games are also accessible through the client.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. activemenu.exe. is used by HP Games ActiveMenu, If you shut down activemenu.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop activemenu.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HP Games ActiveMenu, from your system.
