ArcSoft Connect, installed with ArcSoft product drivers, is a process that is launched via acdaemon.exe. The process is simply your auto updater for your ArcSoft software. You can disable it from running with every PC boot-up, and run it manually if you want to look for updates. A lot of users have reported the file as being some form of spyware installed on the PCs, because generally, they were never aware of the file being installed on their PC; and when they do discover the file; it is through their AV programs which detected the file as spyware. Based on users’ accounts, they do not find the file beneficial to their computing activities, in any way. They only find it hogging CPU memory. Consequently, a good number of these clients have opted to completely uninstall the file from their systems. They found nothing amiss with system, hardware or device performance with the file completely erased from the PC.
How can I stop acdaemon.exe and should I?
Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. acdaemon.exe. is used by ArcSoft Connect, If you shut down acdaemon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop acdaemon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ArcSoft Connect, from your system.
