Does not recognize I have already paid.

Why does the program not recognize that I already have a license? After the first scan it said to hit repair again to get the last 4 errors. When I hit repair it is asking me to purchase again. When I put in the license, it said the license is already used on a maximum number of computers. I only have 1 computer.
