The zdesktop.exe process is an EXE program file included with other executable application processes, some DLL resources, certain SYS driver files, specific background process items and various associated components that are used and referenced by the Zimbra Desktop software. This is a Windows program classified as a Web account management tool for client computers running on widely used versions of Microsoft Windows. The Zimbra Desktop software is integrated with a set of features that can allow users to manage and organize their aggregated Web accounts with Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail and Gmail as well as their social network accounts with Facebook, Twitter and other social bookmarking portals on the Internet. Users of the Zimbra Desktop software can use this program and access their account details while offline or online. The zdesktop.exe file is placed in the system upon the successful installation and configuration of the Zimbra Desktop program, which also means the zdesktop.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of the Zimbra Desktop application. The zdesktop.exe process is specifically deployed as the executable program dispatcher file of the Zimbra Desktop software, which means users can load the Zimbra Desktop program unto their Windows-based systems by activating the zdesktop.exe file.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. zdesktop.exe. is used by Zimbra Desktop, If you shut down zdesktop.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop zdesktop.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Zimbra Desktop, from your system.
