The executable process file, xrxftplt.exe, is also known as XrxFTPLT that is partly belonging to the software Xerox Network Scanners, and in particular, for Xerox Scanner model fu621d, that functions as a driver, or XrxFTPLT Application as developed by the company Xerox. It is considered as a normal part of PC operations, and is a component of Windows XP being a user invoked program. It features a non visible window but is a core system file of Windows. As it is located in the subfolder C:\Program Files, and found in the directory of %programfiles%\xerox\nwwia. The application has an entry upon start-up of Windows with a Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run in which a size of the memory occurring on 83% in Windows 7/XP is 27,648 bytes, or 33,792 bytes. The process file xrxftplt.exe requires using a port in order to connect to the Internet or the Local Area Network (LAN).

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. xrxftplt.exe. is used by XrxFTPLt, If you shut down xrxftplt.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop xrxftplt.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is XrxFTPLt, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as XrxFTPLt, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
