The wsmsvc.dll process is a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) module bundled with other modular DLL files, certain EXE program files, some SYS driver files, various background process items and other associated resource files that are needed by Microsoft Windows for the implementation of the functionalities embedded in the Windows Remote Management module into the system. The Windows Remote Management module is an applet built into Microsoft Windows with a set of tools for integrating remote connectivity rights and privileges into Windows client and remote computers, and for facilitating data transmissions and TCP/IP/FTP connections between Windows client and remote systems, which are mainly used for administrative maintenance and system management tasks. The wsmsvc.dll file is placed in the system alongside the other components of the Windows Remote Management module upon the installation and configuration of Microsoft Windows. This also means the wsmsvc.dll process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of Microsoft Windows.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wsmsvc.dll. is used by Microsoft Windows and Windows Remote Management Module, If you shut down wsmsvc.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
