Developed by Autodesk, Inc., WSCommcntr1.exe is the process file for Windows Software Communication Center, a feature in the Autodesk software applications that is used for content and information delivery upon detection of Internet connection. Autodesk is best known for the AutoCAD program, and is gaining popularity for its wide range of software utility for design, entertainment, and engineering, as well as the new software line for consumers, such as Sketchbook, Pix1r, and Homestyler. Autodesk has educational freeware available to qualified students as well as faculty via the Education Community. The Autodesk's software for digital prototyping includes Autodesk Product Design Suite and the Autodesk Inventor, which are both used in manufacturing industries to simulate, visualize, and analyze real-life performance by using its digital model in the design process. Autodesk’s Revit software line for Building Information Modeling enables the users to explore planning, management, and construction of a virtual building before constructing it in the actual life size. Autodesk provides creation of digital media and manages film and television software for visual effects, editing and color grading, as well as animation, design visualization, and game development.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wscommcntr1.exe. is used by Autodesk Communication Center, If you shut down wscommcntr1.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
