Originally created by NullSoft, which is now acquired by AOL, the winampa.exe file refers to the software Winamp, also called as Winamp Agent or Winamp3. Winamp is basically a media player program that is exclusively designed for computers that are supported by Windows operating system, as well as Apple’s Mac OS X, particularly Beta, Linux but WA3 only and Android devices. This application is not just a simple playlist for music and video, but also a program that has customizable skins, plug-ins, graphical sound visualization, and also a media library. A user can also have the option to create album and track tags. As the major file process, winampa.exe is responsible to provide all those functions and features. Unless the user wants to delete the Winamp software, the winampa.exe file needs to be stored on the system and kept running. In addition, this file, along with other processes, is located in the folder C:\Program Files.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. winampa.exe. is used by Winamp, If you shut down winampa.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop winampa.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Winamp, from your system.
