What is win_server.exe
Many users have reported that the win_server.exe process is an executable program file associated with a malicious application known as a variant of the Backdoor.Trojan program and the Backdoor.Poison.pg application, which are families of Trojans with spyware-like functionalities. The same user reports stated that the win_server.exe process is capable of automatically initializing on its own during system startup due to the entries and keys it can create and drop into the Windows System Registry upon its placement and execution in the Windows-based system. The win_server.exe process can then operate in the background without user consent during system runtime to scour the infected system, according to many users, for TCP/IP network ports that it can exploit and use to initiate contact with predesignated Web servers. The win_server.exe process can then download more malicious programs that can gather data and Internet browsing information from the system and the default Web browser, as stated by some users. These collected pieces of data can then be transmitted by the win_server.exe process to Web servers that are operated and managed by its authors.
How can I stop win_server.exe and should I?
Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. win_server.exe. is used by Backdoor.Trojan and Backdoor.Poison.pg, If you shut down win_server.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop win_server.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Backdoor.Trojan and Backdoor.Poison.pg, from your system.
