The webworks.exe process is an executable program file packaged with other EXE application resource files, some DLL (Dynamic Link Library) modules, certain SYS driver files, various background processes and associated component files that are needed by the firmware resources and driver software components of certain 2-Wire modem devices. The webworks.exe process is specifically deployed as a resource process of the 2-Wire setup and configuration utility module of these associated firmware and driver software installation distributions. The webworks.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation and configuration of these 2-Wire firmware resources and driver software components, which also means the webworks.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of these 2-Wire firmware and driver software resources. The webworks.exe process is activated by the system and the associated 2-Wire setup and configuration module component whenever the user requests for access to certain functionalities available in the 2-Wire firmware and driver software resources that correspond to the 2-Wire modem setup and configuration features available in the 2-Wire modem device.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. webworks.exe. is used by 2-Wire Modem Setup and Configuration Utility Module, If you shut down webworks.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop webworks.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is 2-Wire Modem Setup and Configuration Utility Module, from your system.
