The wdc.exe process is also known as WatchDog. It is a PC monitoring software produced commercially and is able to record every computer activity such as websites visited, keystrokes, chat and instant messages, programs used and is also capable of taking screenshots at pre-defined times. It limits the use of the computer depending on which user logged in and the time limit he or she has set, as well as program limits. It can be a convenient and helpful tool, although this can become a launcher for blackmails or identity, for instance. This file is digitally signed from ASUSTeK Computer Inc. It proves to be useful for the user and it is not recommended for this program to be terminated. It is considered to be relatively safe; however, the user should look out for shady signs mentioned above, i.e. identity theft and blackmail. This file is an executable file and the process can enhance the functionality of the computer system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wdc.exe. is used by WatchDog, If you shut down wdc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
