Developed in 1998 by Stardock Corporation, WBVista.exe process is the executable file of WindowBlinds, a software that provides users the ability to transform the Windows interface by preferred title bars styles, buttons, tool bars, and check boxes. WindowBlinds has two formats of interface skin schemes: the Basic format (UIS1) and the Advanced format (UIS2). The widely used "Basic" or standard, relaxed size skin format has customizable full features (four pixels wide on most of the borders) allowing customizability of the titlebar height. Its limitations are the titlebar animation and scripting are not supported. Its advantages are that its visual style has twice as fast speed in repainting and resizing, and that most style schemes in Microsoft can be converted or customized to a “Basic” skin. The “Advanced” format complements with the limitations of the Basic format. These skins have wider borders, or none at all. Unlike with the Basic format, titlebar scripting and background animation is an enabled feature.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wbvista.exe. is used by WindowBlinds, If you shut down wbvista.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop wbvista.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is WindowBlinds, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
