The watchu.exe file is an executable application process included with other EXE program files, some SYS driver resources, certain DLL modules, various background processes and associated components that are required by the Pinnacle Studio software. This is a Windows program classified as a multimedia authoring and editing application that was developed by Pinnacle Systems with a set of tools for implementing non-linear video development and editing functions into digital video content. The watchu.exe process is integrated into the system upon the installation and configuration of the Pinnacle Studio software, which means the watchu.exe file is also bundled with the installer distribution packages of the Pinnacle Studio program. The watchu.exe process is specifically deployed as a component of the monitoring module and the media player applet of the Pinnacle Studio software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. watchu.exe. is used by Pinnacle Studio, If you shut down watchu.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop watchu.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Pinnacle Studio, from your system.
