Known as the service name VMware Workstation, also VMware Virtual Machine Console, the vmware.exe process is an instance of an executable or EXE file, and most importantly, a part of the program VMware Workstation, or VMware Server, which is developed by VMware, Inc. VMware Workstation is a type of hypervisor, but only runs on x64 desktop computers or laptops, and is used to create different virtual machines or VMS, and use each one of them simultaneously along with the host computer. This enables the multiple virtual machines to execute their own operating system, whether Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Linux, Mac OS, or BSD types. Because it is included on the software, vmware.exe is essentially important that needs to run in the background, otherwise it stops its function from working, or disables the overall task of the program. Therefore, it is not advisable to terminate or delete the process vmware.exe, except if it is causing problems or errors that mainly affect the computer system performance.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. vmware.exe. is used by VMware Workstation or VMware Server , If you shut down vmware.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop vmware.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is VMware Workstation or VMware Server , from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as VMware Workstation or VMware Server , or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
