What is  vmware-authd.exe

Called by the service name VMware Authorization Service, the vmware-authd.exe file is a module that is housed in certain software products of VMware, which are VMware Workstation, VMware Server, and VMware Player. As its name suggests, vmware-authd.exe is developed and used as an authorization service, also authentication service, to start and access virtual machines. It is a program that allows the interaction or communication between a host computer and other virtual machines. Without this, the use of virtual connection or session is not able to allow shared users to properly interact with the administrator, and vice versa. Thus, the vmware-authd.exe file has to remain stored on a folder location in C:\Program Files, and continue to run in the background of the computer system. When using a Workstation, Player or Server by VMware, this file must be left working automatically. Furthermore, if this file does not exist on the system, the ability or privilege to connect from one computer to another virtual machine is restricted.
