The vmsrvc.exe process is an executable program file distributed alongside other EXE application resource processes, certain modular Dynamic Link Library (DLL) components, some SYS driver utilities, particular background process items and various associated component resources that are required by Microsoft Windows for implementing the functionalities of the Windows Virtual Machine Additions software into the system. The vmsrvc.exe process is specifically deployed as one of the components of the Windows Virtual Machine Services module, which is an applet built into the Windows Virtual Machine Additions application, and the vmsrvc.exe process actively runs in the background whenever the Windows Virtual Machine Additions software is required to implement into the system certain features embedded in the Windows Virtual Machine Services module. The vmsrvc.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of Microsoft Windows, which also means the vmsrvc.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of Microsoft Windows.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. vmsrvc.exe. is used by Windows Virtual Machine Additions and Windows Virtual Machine Services Module, If you shut down vmsrvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop vmsrvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Windows Virtual Machine Additions and Windows Virtual Machine Services Module, from your system.
