Owned by Microsoft Corporation, usbscan.sys is the system file for the USB scanner driver for the Windows operating system digitally signed by Microsoft Windows. USBscan.sys is a required component for the operation of all Universal Serial Bus devices and ports, a support file for all Windows USB products. USBscan.sys is contained in every version of Windows installer CDs. USBscan.sys is used for the functionalities of composite devices, USB hubs, scanners, and all imaging devices. It also has a built-in support interface for other USB HID or Human Interface Devices and PID or Physical Interface Devices such as USB mouse, keyboards, joysticks, including several numbers of Consumer Page controls for Human Interface Devices. USBscan.sys driver manages all USB digital cameras and scanning devices like sheet-fed, handheld, flatbed, and film scanners for all Windows operating systems from the Windows XP down to the later operating systems. USBscan.sys equips all WIA or Windows Imaging Architecture its universal serial bus components.
