The Creative Register Reminder, or also known as the updreg.exe process, was originally created in order to remind the user to register audio-related programs coming from the Creative Labs software applications and other products for the yet-to-register users on the company’s consumer database. The user has the option to enable or disable this process. The updreg.exe file guides the registration process in order to provide the users with life-long updates and upgrades for their specific Creative Labs product. The updreg.exe file can be found through the LiveWare software that comes with the Audigy cards or SoundBlaster Live. Installing the LiveWare software can be done through the Microsoft Windows System Registry, which allows for proper setting configuration of the saved profile preferences of the user. This EXE file is available as a startup item upon installation in order to guarantee that whenever recent profiles have been created in the computer, the current user profile setting will be automatically saved in the registry and is duplicated to the new user profile.
