The timntr.sys file is part of the Acronis True Image software. True Image is a backup and disk imaging software created for Microsoft operating systems by Acronis. The timntr.sys file allows True Image to restore the image which has been previously captured to another disk. It replicates the structure and contents of the original image to the new disk. Timntr.sys makes disk cloning and partition resizing possible even though the new disk has a different capacity. It enables True Image to create two different types of backup, namely file backup and disk backup. True Image selects sets of files to back up on a disk. It is also able create exact backups of a disk called system images. Timntr.sys can back up the hard drive system even if the operating system is actively running. The backups created can be saved on hard disk drives, CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs, Zip drives, Jaz drives, USB devices and storage devices found in a network.
