Spybot Search and Destroy TeaTimer is a feature of the Spybot Search and Destory software, installed with the file teatimer.exe. Spybot S&D monitors the system for malware and spyware, taking care of these as soon as they have been detected. The TeaTimer application is part of the monitoring process of the software, tracking down malicious files and immediately terminating these. While the software is a useful tool in preventing malware and spyware infections, there is one major downside that makes users wary of the software: the application’s attempts to alter registry entries of programs that it does not recognize. The danger here is that users who are not adept at recognizing valid registry keys, or are not knowledgeable about registry entries, might approve the modification and in the process, prevent important applications or processes from executing properly. On the other hand, if the user does not approve the modification, the suspected malicious file could affect valid processes.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. teatimer.exe. is used by Spybot Search and Destroy TeaTimer, If you shut down teatimer.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop teatimer.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Spybot Search and Destroy TeaTimer, from your system.
