McAfee VirusScan Enterprise software contains the process tbmon.exe. Tbmon.exe is in-charge of controlling the error reporting service feature of the software. It serves as a tool for Network Associates for reporting error. It performs its job by trapping errors and by requesting submission to NAI so that the new software will undergo beta-testing. The tbmon.exe file can be activated by accessing the Tools menu which can be found in the VirusScan console. Once the EXE file has been activated, McAfee VirusScan implements its Error Reporting Service. Tbmon.exe will start to monitor all applications found in the network. Then it will inform the user if it detects an error or a problem. Tbmon.exe enables the user to have the data submitted to be analyzed if ever there is an error detected. Upon submission, tbmon.exe immediately sends it to McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator server. This server combines all security solutions and data to provide real-time data necessary to resolve the error.
