Synaptics TouchPad Enhancements is the process with the filename syntpenh.exe. This software is for Windows-run laptops. The process has the task of launching the touchpad features of laptops. It displays with a System Tray icon that you can launch to check the status of your touchpad, and also to provide you with quick-launch options for your touchpad’s featured applications. In most instances, the file is already installed in laptops. The directory of the file is C:\Program Files\Synaptics\Syntp\syntpenh.exe. The general size of the file is 1.72 MB. There have been quite a few comments from clients who experienced laptop hangs because of the file. In cases such as these, the users had to take out the laptop battery in order to shutdown the computer, because they found it rather difficult to shutdown normally with the laptop frozen. This issue however, is not common in all laptops. There were certain laptop models only where the file was seen to have caused freezes.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. syntpenh.exe. is used by Synaptics TouchPad Enhancements, If you shut down syntpenh.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop syntpenh.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Synaptics TouchPad Enhancements, from your system.
