The sua.exe process is the executable file for Secunia Update Agent, a software for system vulnerability management, the cyclical process of identifying, remediating, classifying, and mitigating network risks by organizing behavioral and decision-making strategic processes. The Vulnerability Management program includes: • Policy Definition – starting out an organization by determining its environment security state. This includes service and device configurations as well as access control for the users accessing the organization resources. • Environment Baseline – defining the organization’s true environment security state and the occurring policy violations. • Priority Vulnerabilities – application of effort-based and risk criteria. • Shield – creating compensation controls to minimize the damage brought by the vulnerability. • Mitigate Vulnerabilities – addressing the root cause/s of the vulnerabilities by patching vulnerable service/s, changing the vulnerable configurations or creating application updates in order to remove vulnerable code. • Monitoring and Maintenance – additional point-in-time security vulnerabilities for the dynamic and evolving organizations' computing environment.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sua.exe. is used by Secunia Update Agent, If you shut down sua.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop sua.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Secunia Update Agent, from your system.
