NVidia Taskbar Utility is the name of the process that is generally associated with the executable sstray.exe file. The file provides users with tools for configuring their NVidia nForce line of products, i.e. motherboard, processors, video cards and sound cards. This is not the main executable file for the hardware devices, but if you want an easier way to access configuration options, this file will provide you with those. The file is generally saved in the System 32 folder of Windows. It is installed by the drivers for NVidia nForce software. You may find the file in the following sizes, in bytes: 73,728 and 77,824. The file is deemed as harmless, and although it is set to execute with every computer boot-up; you may prevent it from doing so, with no negative effects on the system or your PC processes. For the most part, users leave the file in its original state, unless found to be behaving negatively.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sstray.exe. is used by Nvidia Taskbar Utility, If you shut down sstray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop sstray.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Nvidia Taskbar Utility, from your system.
