What is  sp.dll

Not much is known about the file sp.dll, except that it could possibly be relevant to the software for Privacy Components. The process installed by the file is called SPService. It is not clearly known what the process does, but based on some users’ accounts; the file enables users to manipulate the Task Bar. Apart from this, no other information as to the file’s activities on the computer was found. No information on what exactly Privacy Components is was likewise found. However, there were several reports of Trojan infection; malware, adware and spyware intrusions, and system infection from other forms of viruses; that were associated to a file that looks exactly like sp.dll. Thus, much of the information available regarding the file is connected to the clone file. The legitimate file is usually saved in C:\Program Files, while the suspicious file is usually saved in the Temp folder, or subfolders of Documents and Settings.

How can I stop sp.dll and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sp.dll. is used by N/A, If you shut down sp.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop sp.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is N/A, from your system.
