The process sndmon.exe, known as Symantec Security Drivers Install Monitor, is used by software PowerPoint Viewer (version 97). This free software allows users to open PowerPoint files, but does not allow any editing. The application is easy to use and its users can view fully featured presentations created in PowerPoint 97 and later versions. It can be used as the default application for opening PowerPoint files such as .pptx, .ppt, .pot, .potx, .pptm, and .pps. It automatically registers as the standard software if Microsoft Office is not detected on the host PC. Once it is installed, the user only needs to browse to the desired file to open the menu. The presentations are opened only in the full-screen mode, and navigation can be done only by right clicking from the current slide, which limits the slide browsing capability of the user. This application supports opening of password-protected Microsoft PowerPoint files and allows printing of opened files.
